Mint Raita 4, Made With Mint Sauce, Like In Indian Restaurants in UK in the 1970s-90s
Pudina ka Raita 4
Mamta Gupta
This very easy to make dish is often served in Indian restaurants in UK with Tandoori Chicken 1, 2, 3, 4. It can also be served with Green Banana Kebabs, Meat Kebabs, Shami Kebab, Soya Kebab, Pakoras-Vegetable Fritters 1, Pakoras-Vegetable Fritters 2, Paneer Pakoras, Popodoms and other starters.
When my girls were living at home, they preferred this with their Roast Leg of Lamb, to the usual mint sauce.
Mint Raita (Yoghurt) - 1 made at home is different than this one, and more refreshing in my opinion.
Ingredients
1 cup. fresh, creamy natural yoghurt or dahi
1 tsp. English mint sauce (amount depends on how minty you like it).
Salt to taste
1/4 tsp. chilli powder or finely chopped green chillies to taste
Optional
1 tbsp. finely chopped red onion
Instructions
Beat the yoghurt lightly.
Add all other ingredients and stir well.
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Serve chilled.
