Raspberry Syrup

This is an easy syrup to make. It and can be used to make drinks or served as a topping on ice-cream, rice pudding. Other berry syrups can be made the same way.

Ingredients

  • 500 gm. raspberries

  • 450 gm. sugar, caster is better

  • 1 litre water

Instructions

  1. Wash fruit.

  2. Add sugar, water and bring to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Mash it a little.

  3. Allow to cool completely.

  4. Sieve through a fine strainer.

  5. The consistency should be syrupy.

  6. Store in an airtight, sterilised jar or bottle.
