Ginger Biscuits 1

Biscuits are relatively easy to make at home and much nicer that ready-made ones.

Ingredients

  • 120 gm. self-raising flour

  • 2 tsp. ginger powder

  • 1 level dessert spoon full caster sugar

  • A pinch of salt

  • 1/2 level tsp. bicarbonate of soda

  • 60 gm. butter at room temperature

  • 60 gm. honey or golden syrup

Instructions

  1. Turn the oven on to 180C or Gas 5,

  2. Grease or line a baking tray with baking paper. Keep aside.

  3. Place dry ingredients, butter and honey/golden syrup in a bowl.

  4. Fold them in with a spatula.

  5. Knead to make a smooth dough.

  6. Spread a greaseproof paper on a kitchen surface.

  7. Place the dough on top and roll it out to about 3-4 mm thickness.

  8. Cut into any shape, lift and place on a nonstick or lined baking tray.

  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Oven performance vary, so keep an eye for last few minutes.
