Bircher's Muesli
Birchers Muesli For Breakfast
Olga Jacques from Switzerland
Muesli means cereals. The origin of the Birschermuesli is Swiss-German. It is served at breakfast and is more popular in German part of Switzerland, rather than the French part. It can be called Birschermuesli or Bischer, more ommonly in the Swiss-French part, or just Muesli, more commonly in the Swiss-German part. Serves 4
Ingredients
3 cups cereal Birschermuesli or rolled oats
3 cups yoghurt, natural or any flavour you like. I would recommend coconut or chocolate flavoured
1 cup nuts or almonds chopped or whole
1 cup fresh fruits like bananas, apples, strawberries, other seasonal berries, chopped up. You can add any fruits you like.
1/2 glass fresh fruit juice (orange juice or a cocktail of fruit juices)
Instructions
Place everything in a bowl, mix and leave to stand for 10 minutes. It should be same consistency as any fruit yoghurt.
Notes
It can be stored overnight in the fridge.
