Biscuits are easier to make than most people realise. Aroma of freshly baked biscuits is one of my favourite smells. Makes 15-20
Note from Mamta: This recipe comes from my younger daughter Neeta's old recipe note book that I found lying around. I have made minor changes to amounts.
Ingredients
200 gm. wholemeal flour
50 gm. bran. You can replace with 50 gm. whole meal flour or use choker, the husk you get from sieving chapatti flour)
100 gm. soft brown sugar
100 gm. butter or margarine
Finely grated zest or rind of 1-2 lemons, depending on their size (about 2 tbsp. zest)
1 standard egg
50 gm. raisins or currants or sultanas
1 level tsp. salt
