Phalon ka Dudh

DrinkIndianQuick

I first had milk shake made this way, when we went to Bali in the early 1980's. Until then, I had only made a milk shake using bananas or strawberries. It is so simple to make and is very delicious. You can use any fruits and as much or as little as you want. Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, sliced roughly

  • 1/2 cup fresh pineapple

  • Guava flesh, seeds removed

  • 1/2 a pear

  • Any other fruits of the season. Avoid citrus fruits or use in small quantities or the milk may curdle.

  • 2 tbsp. mixed nuts like almonds, pistachio, cashew nuts, hazel nuts-optional

  • A few strands of saffron, dissolved in 2 tsp. of warm water or milk-optional

  • 1 pint or 500 ml. cold milk

  • Sugar or sugar substitute, if required

Instructions

  1. Blend everything together.

  2. Adjust sugar.

  3. Chill thoroughly.

  4. Serve chilled in tall glasses, with or without ice.
