Sweet Banana Yoghurt (Raita) with Honey and Cardamoms

Easy Indian Main Side Snack Sweet Vegetarian

This is a simple, easy and delicious raita.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe banana, chopped into small pieces
  • 1 small carton or 8 fluid oz. natural yoghurt or dahi, thick and creamy, Greek style (you can use sour cream, if calories are not a concern)
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. honey, or use sweetener for diabetics.
  • 1 tbsp. sultanas or raisins (optional)
  • 1 tsp. cardamom powder.

Instructions

  1. Soak sultanas and raisins in warm water for 10-15 minutes, until they swell up.
  2. Chop bananas and soak in lemon juice to stop discolouration.
  3. Beat yoghurt lightly.
  4. Add all ingredients, mix and transfer to a serving bowl.
  5. Serve chilled.
