Sweet Banana Yoghurt (Raita) with Honey and Cardamoms
Kele ka Meetha Raita With Raisins
This is a simple, easy and delicious raita.
Ingredients
- 1 medium ripe banana, chopped into small pieces
- 1 small carton or 8 fluid oz. natural yoghurt or dahi, thick and creamy, Greek style (you can use sour cream, if calories are not a concern)
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. honey, or use sweetener for diabetics.
- 1 tbsp. sultanas or raisins (optional)
- 1 tsp. cardamom powder.
Instructions
- Soak sultanas and raisins in warm water for 10-15 minutes, until they swell up.
- Chop bananas and soak in lemon juice to stop discolouration.
- Beat yoghurt lightly.
- Add all ingredients, mix and transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
- Yoghurt can be flavoured with ground illaichi or green cardamoms or saffron.
