Spinach Raita (Yoghurt)
Palak Raita
A simple raita to make, it is quite refreshing in summer.
Serves 3-4
Ingredients
- 1 cup Yoghurt or dahi
- 1/2 cup spinach leaves, boiled and mashed roughly. Do not make a paste, leafy texture looks and tastes better
- 1 tsp. roasted cumin seeds (jeera), coarsely ground
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp. or less red chilli powder, adjust to taste
- You can add 1-2 chopped green chillies. If you do, reduce red chillies
Instructions
- Beat the yoghurt with a fork.
- Add all other ingredients and mix well. If it is too thick add a little milk and mix it again.
- You can garnish it with a sprinkling of chilli powder and ground roast cumin seeds.
- Serve with an Indian meal.
Notes
- A little cumin powder and chilli powder sprinkled on top makes it look nice.
