Guacamole (Avocado Dip)
Guacamole
It is a very quick dip to make and can be served with any type of bread, crisps, tacos etc.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1-2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tbsp. jalapeno peppers in brine/vinegar
- 1 medium tomato
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon/lime
- 1 tbsp. virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste (not too salty)
- 1 tbsp. green coriander leaves or cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp. sour cream or creamy yoghurt
Instructions
- Place avocado, onions, jalapeno, olive oil and lime juice in a blender and puree.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Add and mix cream/yoghurt.
- Chill in fridge. Serve with tacos or pitta bread, toasted slices of bread etc.
Notes
- You can also make it by adding very finely chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves, pepper, chillies to crushed garlic, mashed avocado, and remaining ingredients
