I am making a Beef curry tomorrow, and have mistakingly bought a yoghurt with honey instead of a plain one. Any ideas how I can make this to suit the sweetness of the honey, or should I not use it? All recipe ideas welcome. Thanks.
What is the recipe? I wonder if you can use tomato puree instead. It will be different taste, but will work.
I use your basic curry sauce with all the extras and lots of chillies and usually add yoghurt towards the end of the cooking. I will try this honey yoghurt and who knows I may be surprised.
Well why not? Many Gujrati Indians put sugar in their curries and other dishes. Chicken Chasni (probably from Scotland) has sugar or mango chutney or honey in it. Sweet yoghurt may be quite nice. Do get back to us and tell how it came.
Mamta :-)
How about some sort of beef (instead of lamb) Do Pyaza?

The honey could work well with all those onions?
Winton
Good idea Winton, I will try that recipe, with just a little variation, will let you know how it works out.
I must admit to not using the Yoghurt in the curry in the end, when opened far too sweet. I did however make a raita with it, mixed it with banana and some lemon juice, delicious.
Probably a wise move wilsonz!
Next time why not make your own yoghurt:

Yesterday I put a joint to marinade for Mamta's Spicy Tandoori Roast Lamb, so looking forward to a good supper tonight!
