Today I went to the BBC Good Food Show, as a guest of Miele who were sponsoring the Masterchef Invention Test theatre and the Cookalong.
I did the invention test, infront of a big audience (GULP) with Mat Follas, Dhruv Baker, John Torode and Gregg Wallace judging. And Andi Peters presenting. I WON! Shocking! Ha haa, lots of fun.
Also met the runners up from this year's MC, the lovely (Dr) Tim Kinnaird and cutiepie Alex Rushmer.
Oh and I made american-style pancakes with fresh raspberries in them, served with mascarpone cream, with lots of vanilla seeds, icing sugar and a little double cream beaten into it.
They are running these Invention Tests a few times each day of the show, so this is nothing special, it's purely for fun, but was nervewracking and fabulous fun!
excellent well done... will it be televised?... you're becoming a right little TV star... (market kitchen)...
Steve
nervewracking? Can't imagine how I'd recact to cooking under pressure for such an esteemed judging panel! Well Done.
Hope your winning recipe will be recorded for posterity on-site here.

Well, they were filming it BUT not for telly, they'll put together a short clip for use on the website before next year's good food/ masterchef live show...
Wish I had known. I was at the Good Food Show and would have loved to have seen you win.
No ma, it's unlikely I'll even be IN the clip they put on their website. From filming 3-4 of these a day over each of 5 days they will make a single short 3 minute clip... it's doubtful I'll even be in it! :)
Ha, you get to see it afterall, if you'd like to - one of the other bloggers had her friends video the entire thing, including the bit at the end where John and Gregg comment on my dish!
Jo's Kitchen has a video of the entire Masterchef Invention Challenge I did, including the bit at the end where the judges comment on my food! http://joskitchen.wordpress.com/2010/06/22/bbc-summer-good-food-show-2010/
And here's a fantastic post on the day from my friend Meemalee, who encouraged me to go, and with whom I travelled there and back and spent the whole day:

It was difficult to watch, very disjointed, voice breaking down. Didn't see you at all in the video, only a still. I DO want to watch it. Will your friend be able to put the film on a CD?
Mamta - you have to patient and watch it all through OR skip to the thirteenth minute onwards of the second video to see Kavey's dish being judged and her proclaimed the winner!
Didn't find it difficult to watch at all... it was just filmed by friend of one of the bloggers, who was sitting in audience, so I think pretty good image and sound considering.
Like I said, I'm at the end.
Finally saw it. Very interesting it was too. Well done and congratulations Kavita :-).
Love it, thanks for posting it up, obviously would get a little snip here and there if it was going to be used for tv (which I know it isn't) looks like a great big buzz just being there, even more when you win !
