A big thank you to the creator, and contributors of this site!
I recently moved from the UK to Australia, and soon found out that the quality of the Indian food here is pretty dire compared to what i was used to!!(i come from Bradford originally, so i was quite spoilt for choice at home).
After eating at around a dozen restaurants, and spending hundreds of dollars trying to find a place that could hit the spot, i gave up and decided to try cook my own!
I came across this site and tried a few recipes, and success!!
What i can cook isnt as good as what i was used to(blame the chef, not the recipes),but me and my wife both agree its tasty, and better than anything we can buy here!
So thanks for helping us continue to eat our favorite foods!!
Aaw, thank you for taking the time to post such a lovely message...
It's what makes the time / effort worthwhile!
:)
and in time, Frank, I think you will appreciate that Mamta's recipes are really better than what you may have eaten at 'so-called' Indian restaurants in Bradford. The real thing is soooo much better.
Thanks for the vote of confidence :-), we aim to please ;-)!
Mamta
Frank a great post, reminds me of my first post after following one of Mamtas recipes something about being "stunned at how good it was, not that I didn't expect it to be good, just didn't think it would be so much better than what I'm used to !"....
Steve
me too! this site is wonderful and all the recipes I have tried so far have been so full of flavour.
No way would I now spend up to $100 on a take away from the local Indian restaurant where all the dishes taste the same, tomato based hot sauce! ...to me this is lazy cooking and coning their customers out of the true delights of indian cookery.
Thank you to you all for the time and effort you put into maintaining this site.
Hello,
Mamta I really enjoy your site and have learnt many things.
However, just read Frank's interesting yet derogratory post:
1."I recently moved from the UK to Australia, and soon found out that the quality of the Indian food here is pretty dire compared to what i was used to!!"
If things are so dire for you then time to go back to Bradford.... we have a name for English people like you.....whinging pom.
