me again, thanks so much for the great replies!
ok, I have some gelatine sheets, Ive never used it before and want to make a savoury mousse, crab or avacado or anything, does anyone have anything spicy and tried n tested??
Thanks in advance I will update once Ive made it!
Looks like we aren't big makers of mousse !
Not something I've tried, maybe someone well have some idea !
Steve
Regarding the need to make a savoury mousse google it and you will get this for example http://homecooking.about.com/od/seafoodrecipes/r/blsea35.htm
I have 2 salmon mousse recipes here, neither uses gelatin. I remember making a tuna mousse for parties years ago that used gelatin. I even had a fish shaped mould, goodness knows where that is gone! The recipe was very similar to the one provided on the link by oddies. It also used chopped capers, as I remember it.
Take any fish mousse recipe and play with the ingredients. They are quite easy to make.

Afraid I haven't ventured much further than a chocolate mousse, but that goes well with chilli (although afraid I cheat and use Lindt Chilli Dark Chocolate in it!)
Most of the classic savoury mousses (eg ham, fish, shellfish, asparagus) originate from French cooking so that may be a good place to start. On the 'Great British Menu' Atur Kochar made a 'spicy salmon mousse' simply by the addition of a little garam masala.
Good luck!
Sorry, Typo - I have not changed my name to 'Spicy mousse' - Winton!
Great comment Steve,
Am I a man, a mouse or now a mousse? Should we be discussing recipes for curried moose?
Cheers, (now) confused of Whitechapel!
Talking about moose, I actually had Moose steak once in Canada long time ago, when I was a meatarian. A bit tough for my taste!
Moose Steak !Thats not often seen on the menu, well not on anything around this end of the World. I suppose its only like us eating sheep etc as we have a few of them....

To bring the forum back full circle I could not resist posting this link:

Nice pictures Winton. Turkey Twizzler has given me an idea; make a kebab like that and fill it with fresh, chopped salad and chutney mix. It will be great as a starter!
nice pictures, its a bit like food section on facebook except mine are with mincemeat and cheap cuts rather than humming bird wings and octopus feet !... LOL
Mamta do you mean a kebab shaped like a vol-au-vent so its like an open pie ?... great little appetizer idea for parties !
Steve
Yes, steve, are you going to have a go? You can use my Quick Kebab recipe if you like.
