Can anyone recommend any foods (or ingredients) that are especially good for nursing mothers?

This is from memory, may not be absolutely correct;
Turmeric, ginger, fennel/anise, gum resin spring to mind, apart from general, nutritious diet, fresh milk included. Avoid pulses and beans, because they can cause colic (wind) in babies. Avoid hot food; chillies etc.
