Hello Mamta,
It has been awhile since I put a request in. I have slowly been going through your recipes and having a lot of fun.
I am not sure if you can help me. I am looking for a name/recipe of a savoury cake that I have been told comes from the north west of India. I tasted it at a market stall, but forgot to write the name down and the dude was so busy selling his delicious food. It really was delicious. Had a crust of sesame seed, black mustard seed. Not sure what else it contained but it had a nutty texture.
Many thanks for whatever assistance. Regards
June
Hello June
Was it Handvo? I am afraid that the picture is not very clear! The recipe is from a dear friend of mine, who comes from Gujarat
Many thanks Mamta. The ingredients are not what I expected, but are very yummy sounding.
If it comes out like the one I tasted I will make it for a 'shared work lunch' we are having in a couple of weeks as it looks it will suit the vegetarian and gluten free members of staff. What do you think?
Many thanks once again
June
June, I like it but to be honest, don't make it myself. My friend, whose recipe it is, usually sends me some over whenever she makes it :-).
The picture is of her Handvo/Ondhwo.
If you make it, let me know how it comes out and if there is something that doesn't work for you. Also, I would love to have some pictures of the steps.
PS Try to find other variations of it on line, you may find one similar to what you ate.
