hello
Mamata jee
i have try the recipe (rus malai) with milk powder.but whenever i dip in the hot milk. it will broken in small pieces. sometimes its becomes thick condensed milk .
i have used the following ingredients:
milk powder 1 cup
egg : 1
Cardamom 1
baking powder 1tsp (heaped)
now mix all the ingredients and make small balls
now plz tell me what mistakes i m doing to make it
Hello Sana
The recipe says 1/4 tsp. baking powder, you put in a heaped tsp.!
The egg is to be added a little at a time, only enough to make dough of the milk powder. You must not add too much egg, certainly not the whole egg. It will be miles too much!
Those probably are the reasons why your rasmalais disintegrated.

Hi Mamta - what does jee mean? Ive seen it a few times after your name?
Cheers

Hello Steve
Jee or Ji is a sign of respect. If you were speaking to someone older or senior to themselves, you would add it to the person's name, like Steve ji. We always call older people 'Ji' at the very least. Otherwise it is uncle, aunty for people much older than you and bhayya (brother) or didi (sister) for similar age or slightly older people. If you were my older brother, for argument's sake, I would call you Steve Bhayya, if you were slightly older and Steve Bhayya ji, if you were a lot older and deserved more respect ;-).

I love this site for things like that ! Ignoring all the recipes and food help you get, its the snippets into other languages and cultures that bring it all together like one big happy family !
