Hi Mamta,

I wanted to know how I can make bhaturas few hours before and serve them later? Can't find anything about this anywhere! Your reply will make my son's birthday party a success. :)

Well, you can wrap them in aluminium foil, two layers, then heat them either in a Hostess trolley, if you have it, for an hour or two as per instructions of your trolley. Or, heat them in a pile wrapped in double foil. in an oven, at 170-80 for about 20 minutes. If you have one person available who can do them under a hot grill while keeping a close watch, that will be even better. But they will never taste as good as when freshly made, just like poories.

If you have Indian style thermal casserole pans, with lids, bhaturas will stay warm in that too.

Happy birthday to your son and have a great party :-)

Thank you so much for replying Mamta!

I did my own research too, and would like to share with you: I made bhatura dough with mashed, boiled potatoes. Made bhaturas in the morning and reheated in microwave in night and they were not rubbery and chewy! :)

Thanks again for your input and wishes.

Yes you are right, bhaturas are good with mashed potatoes (as are poories). You can add so many things to the dough. The recipe here is only for original, basic bhaturas :-)
