Hi all,

whilst looking for swede recipes on the net, it occurred to me to have a look at Mamta's cookbook -- and much to my surprise there is not one recipe!

Are you keeping them secret? ;)

I often use swede, parsnip, carrot and onions as a base for vegetable soup but I don't have any recipes that are predominatly swede...

I did have parsnip soup the other day, dare say swede soup would be good...

I'm not sure it's a vegetable that's particularly prevalent in India hence lack of recipes for it. But, if it's similar to other root vegetables you could ado a search for recipes for other ones and substitute swede into them?

Kavey is right, swede is not a vegetable I have ever seen in India. It is possible that it has become available here (I am in India at present), but I have not seen it in markets. There is no reason though not to cook it using any of the root vegetable recipes on this site.
