Hi everyone, just want to say that the mums chicken curry recipie is still the number 1 dish with all my friends when we have a curry night, it's the only curry i do now, and if anyone wants it any hotter i just put some fresh chopped green chilli in it for them, so by just cooking one dish i can cater for most people, they all seem to love it.

I would like to ask mamta is this the type of curry you would make for your family in an indian household, because we just love it!!

Regards Tom.

Hello Tom

I am glad that you and your friends like the chicken curry :-).

Yes, this is the type of curry I would normally make at our house, with some variations. However, India is a big country, with many, many regional variations. They all have their individual cuisine. This would be more a north Indian household dish.

We had the Lamb version last week and it was also excellent (have taken a photo, now there's a shock.. but didn't post it as you can't see the lamb.)

Hello Steven

I have the same problem sometimes. I think that professional photographers 'doctor' their photoes and take them when dishes are only half cooked ;-)! I think I have a lamb curry picture somewhere, waiting to go on site, along with a few hundred others!

This was probably the best picture I got of the lamb curry ( I tend to take several from different angles, different settings and even with different lights on, and only a few come out anywhere like a good photo...)

As you can see its not just the curry in view and no lamb is obvious..

I made a rice only version of your biryani to go with it (that was only onions and the spices, comes out full of flavour and makes it that bit more fantastic... my brother said it was the best curry I'd ever made !!)

and the salad with pickled chillies amongst other things..

Lamb Curry looks very yellow, which recipe did you follow Steven?

I think that the pictures have to be taken halfway through the cooking, to be nice like professionals. My problem with that is that it gives incorrect idea to the reader.

I used your Lamb Curry and variations recipe, but sometimes the colour can look odd/different due to the lighting of the room etc..

I can take 20 photos and due to the different light, shadow, room lights, even just the white balance due to having slightly more plate or curry in shot, can make it reset itself and look different each time...

Just goes to show how little I know about photography ;-)!

actually if I knew more about photography I might be able to set it so that it gives the correct lighting / colour and white balance rather than letting the camera set (guess) it, itself...

If you want to search for other recipes this is the SEARCH link thats along the top row of buttons...

Simply fill in the search bar with what you want (like Chicken or with onions etc) and it should pull up a lot of results.. (you can even select to search for just those with pictures available)

Thanks AskCy!! :o)

BTW if you want to search on more than one word e.g. for all recipes featuring chicken and potato for example, you will need to use a plus symbol within the search box - e.g. chicken +potato otherwise it will list any recipes with eithre chicken OR potato in their content.

Good point Kavey, but I like to put the minimum in and spend days drooling over all the recipes that come up.. LOL :-)

Hello steven

This is like the addiction to Food magazines and cookery books, spend 2 hours looking at recips and then have only 10 minutes left to cook LOL ;-)!

Steven it's called food porn! And seriously, I do it too - I even rip recipes out of magazines and put them into a slip-in folder I have - though I don't use them often. That said I did adapt a recipe from my folder a couple of weeks ago to make a courgette and cheese tart!
