Hi folks. Been a while since I have used the forum. Shall be back again regularly though as my cooking has been reignited (no pun intended).

Can anyone point me to a cheap mini food processor which will be good for blending small mounts of garlic / dried chiles etc.

I have a larger blender which I use for blending onions and tomatoes etc, but when it comes to smaller amounts of ingredients inside it - it just doesnt do at all - everything just gets blown to the outside wall and sits there (even with a little water).

Looking for about the ?20 (UK) range :)

many thanks.

Hello Chris

I have a Braun one that I bought half price in a sale a few years back, I think a Braun MR4050HC, see here http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/pl/85-145423/Hand-Blenders/Braun-MR4050HC-Compare-Prices# It is excellent for making soups, chopping small amount of onions, ginger, other vegetables, nuts and so on. For big jobs, I have a large food processor, magimix type.

Other similar ones are;

Philips HR1363 Hand Blender with Beaker & Chopper Accessory

or

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BUSH-BLENDER-VARIABLE-INCLUDE-MEASURING/dp/B000U19K50/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1205306548&sr=1-6

or

Breville http://www.electricshopping.com/shop/shop.do?pID=2214&cID=33&utm_source=Shopzilla&utm_medium=cpc

It is worth looking in sales and paying slightly more if necessary. It doesn?t cost more than the price of a meal out for two and lasts a long time.

I've got a multi container/blade job that you can pick and mix what it will do depending on what blades you use or how big the container is.... seems a waste of money as I only use one container and one set of blades... can't remember what its called though.. will look next time I'm in the kitchen.
