Absolutely Tim. But as pulp is VERY sweet, add sugar only after you taste the mix. Can I please, please ask you to take a few pictures, if you are making it from this website (Mango Kulfi).

I am not sure you need to whip the cream... I would use it in natural state.
Normal base for ice-cream is custard OR cream so either should be fine.
Make sure the mango pulp is not too fibrous as well.
Also nice is a mango sorbet, I made one with (fresh) alfonso mangoes, some lime juice and a little icing sugar to taste.
I am not familiar with the recipe, but Nigella is pretty reliable so would go with whatever she suggests! :)
Well - as said, Cream was free - 600ml - whipped stiff - added 400ml Mango pulp & blended.
Nice. But we all think next time add (say) 1/2 Lime juice.
