I don't really know why I'm posting this, other than to say that this evening I made Mamta's Vegetable Biriyani and it turned out really well.

I didn't have cauliflower so I substituted it for broccoli (of which we have a fridge full - for some reason), nor did I have cashews so I used chopped almonds instead. I'm going to be experimenting some more with this dish because I am vegetarian and I love Indian food.

I would have taken some pictures for you Mrs G, but I keep forgetting to buy batteries for my camera, still, there's always next time.

I love vegetable biryanin too. Will look forward to your pictures Andrew.

Another winter favourite in my Indian family is; Cauliflower Tahri Pulao. This is made when no one feels like cooking, it is the cooks day off or when it is raining. It is eaten with dry roasted Popodoms, Sweet mango Chutney, various pickles and fresh yoghurt. Try it sometimes.

I have bookmarked that recipe and I will give it a try in a day or two.
