I finally got around to making Mamta's original kulfi ice cream this evening and all is looking great. i finished it off in the ice cream churner. I didn't have any kulfi moulds but may indulge if I can find them somewhere, instead I improvised and used some plastic moulds that I acquired from microwavable steamed sponge puddings.
I would have taken some pictures but when I checked out the recipe earlier I noticed that the recipe already had pictures.
I'll use the ice cream on Friday when I make an Indian feast... :-)
Thanks.
no reason you cant send in more pics, if they add to the ones already done, or just for general interest.. every little helps... if someone makes one of my recipes its nice to see how it comes out.. it can also help the original author tweek the recipe having seen something they should have pointed out etc...

Righto, next time I make it I will take some more pictures and send them in...
Just eaten some of that kulfi ice cream and I have to say that it's absolutely fantastic. I need to make more before the weekend because I have friends coming over....
Andrew, I am so glad you liked the Kulfi. The one you get in restaurants in UK is only flavoured, pistachio ice-cream, hardly ever true Kulfi. It has it's unique texture from reducing milk at home and flavour is different from condensed milk of tins.
AskCy is right, if pictures are good, I add them or sometimes get Pete to delete the old ones to replace with better pictures.

I didn't buy my Kulfi moulds, I just asked my sister in Delhi to collect some when she bought Kulfi for her family. In India, you buy it in supposedly disposable plastic moulds these days. I think some Lollipop moulds will also do;

May I remind everyone that if you order anything from Amazon, please order via the link here. Pete and Kavita get a tiny commision, without any increase in cost to you, which goes a tiny way towards hours of time they spend maintaining this site free.
