Hello Shikha

I have never seen Makhanas (Kernel of Gorgon Nut or Fox Nut) being sold that are not already roasted and puffed. These seeds are very easy to grow but quite difficult to roast requiring special equipment. This is usually done at specialist factories. Look on this page, scroll down; http://darbhanga.bih.nic.in/dar_industry.htm

Are you sure that yours are not already puffed?

If you put Makhana in my search window, you will find a few recipe ideas.

hello and thanks for the link. I bought these lotus seeds from a chinese shop. The label just says dried lotus seeds and they are white in color http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_seed. Please see this link the seeds are exactly the same . I bought these thinking that i can pop them at home. Maybe i was a bit hasty..

Can you please guide me as to what can be done from these.

Thanks

I see what you mean Shikha. I have never used them in this form. Your best bet might be a Chinese source.
