I was just reading through several chicken recipes looking for some ideas for later and spotted the chicken tikka recipe with the instructions saying

"Keep in an airtight container, otherwise everything else in the fridge will smell of garlic and spices!"

I thought about it for a second and came to the conclusion if my fridge didn't smell of garlic and spices it would be only place anywhere near my kitchen that didn't ! LOL

Heheheh, I kind of like the smell of garlic!

The big one for us is mangoes, when the lovely alphonso and honey mangoes are in season. I keep them in the fridge and Pete says even the milk is tainted! (And he hates mangoes!)

Love the smell of garlic - makes you want to tuck in even before you've started cooking!

In the same vein as your mango story, Kavey - I bought a small crate of lychees a couple of years ago. It sure tainted everything else in the fridge - quite odd eating a lychee-flavoured mint sauce with your roast lamb!

Eventually had to get rid of EVERYTHING in the fridge as the dear husband could smell/taste it in anything and everything. Methinks some sort of paranoia struck him. Even today if he smells something in the fridge (and it doesn't smell of garlic!) he asks if I've stashed away some lychees!
