Lamb Do Pyaza (Double Onion) Gosht Do Pyaja I'm cooking this at the moment and am a little perplexed as to when to add those fried onions I cooked first.

The second lot are golden brown, the meats been browned and the spices added to the yoghurt.

Do I now add the first lot of onions that were well browned, before cooking the meat in the pressure cooker or should I leave them until the meat/yoghurt/spice mixture have finished cooking?

I'm also a little bit concerned about the lack of moisture in the pressure cooker. I usually have at least half a pint in the bottom and I'm not sure if there is sufficient or if I'd better add some more?

I also love the site. It's so easy to use and so well set out.

Hello Ted

I am sorry I did not see your message sooner, I had people for lunch and haven't had time to look at the computer this morning. Hop I am not too late!

First of all, I have changed the title of the recipe to Lamb Do Pyaza (Quick Version), to make it seperate from the other Lamb Do Pyaza recipe.

I am sorry that I had not mentioned when to add the onions that were kept aside in step 3. You add them after cooking is finished and you have opened the pressure cooker. Many meat dishes can have onions added this way, to make the taste as well as appearance special.

You can add 1/2-1 cup of water, if the 'gravy' looks too thick to make enough steam. I have amended the recipe.

I am glad that you like our website. Credit for making it so user friendly goes entirely to my son in-law Pete and my daugter Kavita, who continue to work at improving it all the time. They told me today that the new, updated version of Forum is nearly ready to go on line. I am quite excited about it. Soon, there will be a section that tells you about healing properties of foods, according to Ayurveda, the ancient Indian syatem of medicine.

:-)

Hi Mamta

Is this new section you mention still a possibility on your site?

Cheers

Steve

It is written but I haven't had a chance to edit it. Thanks for reminding me, I have just written down a reminder for myself.
