Both thrilled and daunted to share this with you!

Voucher Codes asked me, and fellow bloggers, to film video recipes (with them and a professional crew) for recipes that give a little twist to Christmas.

I did Mamta's Kitchen Tandoori Leg of Lamb!

Here it is: http://www.kaveyeats.com/2012/12/christmas-day-alternative-tandoori-leg-of-lamb.html

Oh god no, when Pete and I filmed, it was like the worst amateur thing.

Was filmed and edited by the pros.

The intro segment is the weakest, I'm bouncing and distracted, but it was gone 11 pm by then as it was filmed at end, so I was exhausted. (Everyone else overran so I started and finished few hours late).

Great stuff! Well done, Kavita!

I've been doing an Indian whole leg of lamb for years, from Madhur Jaffrey, but it's off the bone.

So I think i'm going to have a go at this during the festive season.

You should have your own tv series!

Ha haaaa, you're very kind, all of you.

Recipe is mum's of course.

I called it Mamta's Tandoori Leg of Lamb but they've renamed it in their write-up, however they have kept my reference in intro to it being my mum's recipe from her site...

Kav, it doesn't matter whose recipe name it has, you are mine too after all! 100s of people make it on similar lines every day. I have only been cooking it for 35-40 years!! LOL!

I am sure you will do a good cookery programme, given a chance. 'Cooking from the world', dinner from a different country every day would be nice :-) withy your food knowledge.

No one will ever ask me to do that, they're all after the young and beautiful "Indian Nigellas" of which there are many contenders. Wish they'd recognise these lovely ladies in their own right, though, rather than painting them as brown copies of someone else.

Mind you, Nigella really does lay it on rather thickly, with all that come-on stuff, so she's partly responsible for all this. They denied that 'The Delicious Ms Dahl' had anything to do with Nigella, but it was hard to believe.

How come you have to be glam to be a woman tv cook, but if you're a bloke, it doesn't matter what you look like?

I recall the days of Fannie Craddock, when it was knowledge and skill that mattered, not whether the presenter was glam!

Sorry, I'm sounding like an old git again!

Oh I agree with you!

Anyway, I'm not sure I have that kind of confidence to want to be a TV anything really and certainly don't have the skills and knowledge to do this for a living but was enormous fun and am pleased with the result!!!

:-)

There are frozen legs of lamb from New Zealand in Intermarch? and LIDL here, but it's expensive. Might hang on until we have house guests. Perhaps not my daughter, cos her husband is a veggie. Will wait for friends from Holland in June. Sounds a fun thing to do!

Hey Phil

You could apply it to a beef joint too, or a whole chicken. You just need to adjust your marinating / cooking times...

Or a whole fish...

Or to lamb chops, chicken pieces etc. too. In case of fish, add some other herb than mint.

Thanks, Kav! i'll give that a go!
