Basically what the title says. I purchased square pastry sheets that are the same in length on all four sides but have found it impossible to figure out how to make a consistent triangular shape samosa.

I have tried looking for methods using search engines but have found no luck. Hopefully someone can help me out on here :)

I think basically you fold a corner over to create a triangle and then keep folding over until you have enough layers around it...

However I believe the true way to make samosa's is more by creating a cone shape which you fill and then flop the top over to bridge the gap...

The cone shape is explained in the recipe above.

maybe you should start with a semi circle and fold from there.

I know that using a semi-circle is easier to make a good shape and this is the way our family has always made samosas, but buying the pastry means you don't have to go through the trouble of making your own!

The reason I asked this question was because a family friend had made very nice shaped samosas using the square pastry but unfortunately I did not get the chance to ask how they did it!
