Thank you Steve. Gujrati kachori is different in shape and taste. They are Small ball shaped and taste is sweet and salty.

I have eaten ithese at my Gujarati friend's places and looked at the recipes on the internet. Yes they are smaller, but then most Gujarati things are; poories, chapatties. They are more tightly stuffed (than ours) and have a little sugar added to the stuffing mix. You may of course be talking about the specific, Peas Kachauries, which I have only eaten, not made, as far as I can remember.

The ones given above; Khasta Kachauri, Spicy Pasties from North India are the ones with Mung dal. They can be made with urad dal or mung dal or a mix of both. They have saunf/fennel. Mine do not have sugar, because we north Indians do not add sugar to savoury things generally, but you can add it, there is no reason why not. I am not sure which other ones you are looking for? These are the ones commonly sold/eaten as snacks all over northern and central India.
