Hi all,

I have just made a steak & mushroom pie and was thinking of freezing down some 'mini pies' (using little disposable foil cake tins) for my 1 year old neice. I wanted to know wether i should freeze them uncooked or cooked and when it comes to cooking them should they be defrosted or cooked straight from frozen?

We have had frozen pies in the past (hollands) and they were pre-cooked, said defrost and then cook... however we just nuked them for about 3 minutes.. lol

Depends on the type of pie. If the filling is suitable, not too salty/spicy, I am sure they can. I wouldn'y give a one year old too much of the topping crust either, probably too rich for them, unless it is mashed potatoes topping.

Thanks for the replies,

I have just found out she is 1 month off being two! (my sister was not very impressed that i got her age wrong). I kept a small quantity seperate and blitz it in a processor so it now has no large chunks and should be fine for her to eat.
