Hello! My baby had her first taste of phulka yesterday and she loved it! (She's refused all other types of bread so far (she's only 6 mths). Anyway, I've found your recipe and want to make some for her at home. So my question is, can I freeze phulkas?
Thank,
tootingbaby
Hi there,
Mamta's currently on holiday - she'll be sure to check out your question as soon as she gets back!

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they much like chapaties ?
chapatti, roti and phulka's are all listed on this site under the same recipe.
So the answer is probably yes but they are better made fresh.
things along similar lines were discussed here keeping chapaties soft
You can probably get decent results by making them up but not cooking, then freezing them. When you want to use them take them out of the freezer the night before and cook when defrosted.
Personally I freeze left over (cooked) chapaties and when I need them just bang them in the microwave for about 30 seconds on full power (straight from frozen)

Dear All,
Thanks very much for your replies and links. Most useful. Just off to our local store to buy the flour. Also just realised that my forum name might cause some amusement in the States! It is a place name in the U.K, can you believe?! Though if you heard the baby right now, you'd know why I really chose it. Anyway, I'll be back later for some dhaal and vege kofti recipes, to see if baby is tempted with those.
All the best,
tootingbaby
glad to be of assistance, you'll find many many many tempting recipes is you click the search button above and type in something you are interested in (like "lamb" or "samosa" etc)
