Good morning :-)!

I have only been once to Mumbai and don't know it at all. However, most decent grocers should have Flax seeds. look for 'Alsi' ke beej'. I am sure that they should be eaten ground, whole seeds are not digested and discarded by body whole. I keep a little jar of ground seeds, adding a tbs. or so to my chapatti dough, curries etc. when i remember.

I am sure they help with the skin and hair etc., but can't be specific. Look up in Wikipedia etc.
