My girlfriend bought an indian vegetable called a Dudhi (I think), it's green and shaped similar to a mango. Neither of us know what to do with it, I don't even know why she bought it.
Can we just chop it up and add it to a vegetable curry? Does it require any type of preperation first or not. Help. She's likes unusal things, hence the fact she's with me.
Thanks Mamta.
You obviously have a computer, use google for dudhi, like I have done and follow this link http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061129155147AASLXF8
Dudhi is called Lauki in Hindi and Bottle gourd in English. Dudhi is it's Gujrati name. It has numerous names. It is a little like a courgette, only firmer in texture and sweeter. You can do pretty much what you do with a courgette or a marrow.
If you search for Lauki recipes on this site, you will find many.

Hello Steve
I still have about 50 left, I am posting them slowly. I need a lot more though. I am hoping that some people will send me pictures :-), when they cook anything from this site.
Mamta
I wonder if you could add something on the recipe page in big bright lights asking for photos ?
maybe a picture showing a photo of food being taken with something like "get your photos of this dish added to the recipe" around it ? Have it on all the recipes with no photos ?
Steve
I will ask Kave and Pete when they return. thanks for the suggestion, good thinking :-).
