Hi everyone

For my birthday I hinted to my family that I would love a 1 day cookery course, as i feel you really never stop learning in life. So my family clubbed together and now the search is on to find one. Anyone got any ideas? I live in Lancashire so I suppose I need to look no more than a couple of hours away

Be interested to know if anyone has taken any cookery courses, what they were and how it all went.

Regards

Hey Pattie

Do you also post over on the BBC Food Chat board? If not I'd recommend posting this question there too, there are definitely a few people who have attended cookery courses.

I did an Indian cooking course a few years ago.....went for about 6 weeks. One night a week. Absolutely loved it.

I'd certainly recommend checking out your local library to see what local authority courses are available - some courses are very good (but can't speak for your area!)

The one day 'top chef' courses you see advertised are probably good too but expensive and very doubtful the 'top chef' will actually turn up in person the day!

Thanks Steve and Winton for the reply.

Have successfully booked a cours for September. I have an Aga and this course is called Aga Sagas with Lucy Cooks cookery school in the Lake District where i have relatives. I am drawn by that fact that we will be making Rosemary foccacia bread Let you know how I get on. Really like the idea of an indian cookery course too. Going to go on lots of courses, although i know I can cook, I just feel you never stop learning, and it will be nice to meet some like minded people.

Have fun Pattie. You live in the part of the world I used to live...also in Lancashire near the lakes.

Cheers
