My computer has lost internet connection and I am a bit lost without it! I have checked all connections, 4 lights in the SKY box are working, not sure what to do :-(! That is the reason it is taking me longer to respond at present. Normally, my computer is on and connected all the time and I keep an eye on things.
I have precious little computer knowledge but have found that simply turning everything (including the modem) off sometimes rectifies things!
I did turn everything off at the electricity level too.
What is a modem and where is it located?
I am hoping one of my neighbour who is a computer trouble shooter by trade, will help me out later, but he is working until latre today!
I think Mamta the modem is what you are calling the 'Sky Box'
Keeping an extra eye on site while you are not in constant communication!

Could be anything causing the problem. Would need hands on to do it properly.
Check the obvious things like leads not fully pushed in, run virus and malware scans, have you added any new software lately ?

Finally sorted out. It seems there was some problem with AcAfee's new update. DEL had received over 20,000 calls with similar problems in the last three days. Some updates of this programme are required later, which I don't know how to do myself, will sort it out later.
At least you don't have overhead power cables (I assume) and violent Mediterranean thunderstorms, Mamta.I got up at 2.30 am to unplug everything here, otherwise the computers, the Livebox, the tv and the card in the washing machine get fried.
When we had modems, we used to lose them every summer because of this. Even when there's a power cut, the electricity from the lightning comes out of our downstairs sockets, cos the earth is drenched by the torrential rain: scary stuff!
