Want to know the black grams should b soaked or to be used raw as is it..please confirm.

No, the black gram has to be dry, unwashed, as it says in capital letters on the recipe.
Just wipe it well with a dry cloth to remove and dust etc. If you wash the gram, it will turn mouldy within days.
