Cucumber, Onion and Tomato Raita (Yoghurt)
Kheera, Pyaz aur Tamatar ka Raita

This is another popular raita, often served in Indian restaurants, perhaps because it is so simple to make. Serves 4-6

Ingredients

2 cups natural yoghurt (or Sour cream for special occasions)
1 small red onion, finely chopped/sliced
1 medium tomato-seeds removed and finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber (kheera or kakri)
2 green chillies, finely chopped (optional, but they are nice)
1 tbsp. chopped coriander leaves
1 tbsp. chopped mint leaves
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground roast cumin seeds.
1/4 tsp. coarsely ground roast cumin seeds for garnish
Optional
1/2 red chilli for garnish
1 chopped carrot

Instructions

1.To make, mix all ingredients together in a large bowl and transfer to a serving bowl.
2.Garnish with a sprinkle of roast cumin and chopped red chilli and mint/coriander leaves.
3.Serve chilled.

Notes

You can add other salad vegetables like carrots, radishes, avocados etc.
