Hot and Spicy Salad Dressing

Hot and Spicy Salad Dressing

Mamta Gupta

Vegetarian

This is a spicy dressing, suitable for chopped small, mixed salad. Amount of ingredients is only approximate, adjust to your taste. It uses readymade ingredients, you just need to put them together. Makes 1 small bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. hot chilli sauce like Encona

  • 2 tsp. sweet chilli sauce, any brand you like

  • 2 tsp. whole grain mustard sauce* like Colemans or similar

  • 4 tbs. balsamic or any other vinegar of choice

  • 1 tbs. olive oil

  • 1-2 tsp. finely chopped herbs

Instructions

  1. Place everything in a jar and shake. Pour on salad just before serving and serve.

  2. *Whole grain mustard is easily available at most grocers. Otherwise, it can be made from mustard seeds, mixed with vinegar/wine, water, salt and sugar (and other spices if you wish). Soak seeds for a few hours or overnight in wine/vinegar. Grind in a blender to desired consistency. You can add dried herbs/other flavours if you like. Home made mustard does not last more that 3-4 weeks in the fridge.
